Don Juan on the Square is a gem tucked away in Tyler, Texas, where authentic Mexican cuisine takes center stage. Customers rave about the freshness of the ingredients and generous portion sizes, making it a go-to place for hearty meals. Daniel Hamby's review highlights the delicious tacos and spicy hot sauce, while Amanda Bailey notes that the fajitas for two offer enough to satisfy even the heartiest of appetites.
This family-owned establishment exudes warmth, as reflected in Jessica Reese's comments about the clean, welcoming atmosphere. Jana Bowman emphasizes the authenticity of the menu, stating that it rivals home-cooked dishes and steers clear of Tex-Mex fare. The guacamole is frequently praised, and diners are warned about the delightful spiciness of the salsa—definitely a must-try!
With great service and affordable prices, guest Stephanie Howard sums up the experience perfectly, noting the friendliness of the staff alongside the culinary delights. Whether you're a local or just passing through, Don Juan on the Square promises a satisfying dining experience that keeps patrons coming back for more.

Great authentic Mexican food. Food was fresh and the hot sauce spicy. My wife got tacos and they was very good. Portions are big and will fill you up. We will definitely come back.

It is a nice, family owned, Fiesta themed, authentic Mexican Restaurant. They do not serve Tex-Mex. The food is comparable to what is cooked at home. Very fresh, very well done. Sauces are pretty spicey. Guacamole Bueno. Downtown serves spirits, the one by soccer field does not. Haven't been to the new venue.

Really busy but quickly served once you just grab a table lol... Warning the salsa is spicy but really good the green one was slightly less... but we had the fajitas for two and it actually was enough for both of us which is a rare occurrence. It was served with sour cream, guac and pico and rice and beans for both of us... Tortillas could have been better but it was overall amazing... A really good experience

Even though they were slam packed with customers I still got excellent food in a short amount of time. The tostadas were healthy and delicious. Great service!

This is an amazing Mexican resturant. I've gone twice with my wife and both times have been exceptional. This is the first authentic "Mexican" (not Tex Mex, although they do have a menu for that) resturant I've been to in Tyler. Chuys on S Broadway and Mercados on loop 323 are tex Mex if that's what you're looking for. Fajita steak/ and battered fish tacos are delicious. Chips and salsa are good too. Try a big Steve if you're not driving back home anytime soon. Found it funny how they have a "limit of 2 per customer" and I understand why.
